25 acres of land are city-owned and is offered as surplus for sale between 2010 and 2013. The city-owned parcels alone support development of a minimum of 450,000 square feet of market-driven demand for residential, commercial, and civic space, with increased density.

Of note:

  • Demand supports 130,000 square feet of new downtown retail over the next 10 years.
  • Demand supports 100,000 square feet of new downtown office space over the next 10 years.
  • The University of Washington at Bothell is expanding rapidly and has grown from 3,000 to 6,000 students in the last 5 years. Expected growth to 10,000 FTE students in the next 3 years.
